The brief
A passion project to create the definitive digital field guide to every wild duck species in the UK. It needed to be educational, accurate, and fun enough to keep kids engaged.
What I built
A full platform with profiles for 23 UK duck species, a 4-clue identification wizard that scores matches by confidence, a live sighting map, an arcade-style quiz game with leaderboards, and a gamified kids zone with stickers and printables. Built on Laravel with Livewire for the reactive components.
The result
A community-driven site that gets regular sighting submissions from birdwatchers across the UK. The identifier wizard correctly identifies species on the first try over 80% of the time.
